Snail Speak respects user privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles app data and App Store purchase access when you use Snail Speak.

Information we use

Snail Speak uses vocabulary data, study progress, practice history, and app preferences to provide the learning experience. Purchase and subscription status is handled through Apple App Store services. Snail Speak only checks whether an active entitlement exists.

How information is stored

Learning progress and app preferences may be stored locally on your device. App Store purchase records are managed by Apple. Snail Speak does not receive your payment card information.

How information is used

App data is used to show vocabulary content, track learning progress, restore access after a purchase, and keep app settings consistent.

On-device translation

Snail Speak uses Google ML Kit on-device translation for English-to-Chinese learning assistance. Translation input and translated output are processed on your device and are not sent to Google by ML Kit for translation. ML Kit may contact Google servers to download or update translation models, receive bug fixes, and check compatibility information.

Speech and audio

Snail Speak uses Apple's system text-to-speech technology to read selected words, examples, and practice text aloud. Snail Speak does not record your voice for text-to-speech playback. Text selected for speech is provided to the iOS speech synthesis service so audio can be generated and played on your device.

Third-party services

Apple processes subscriptions, lifetime purchases, purchase restoration, and subscription management. Google ML Kit may collect device information, app information, per-installation identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, event types, error codes, and configured source and destination languages for diagnostics and usage analytics. Any on-device language or translation features rely on system, bundled, or third-party SDK services available in the app environment. Snail Speak does not sell personal data.
